The Lorne Residence, designed by K+AR Architects, is a coastal home located on Victoria’s rugged Great Ocean Road. Featuring UniCote® Coastal cladding in the custom Billabong finish, the façade is articulated through a standing seam profile that complements the site’s dramatic natural backdrop.
Built by Great Otway Constructions, the project required a material solution engineered to withstand the region’s harsh coastal conditions, including high winds and salt spray. UniCote® Coastal was selected for its superior corrosion resistance, flexible lead times, and robust coastal warranty, ensuring long-term performance without compromising design intent.
The residence was delivered with support from Rodgers & Sons Sheetmetal and ACME Roofing), reflecting a seamless collaboration between design, construction, and fabrication. The Lorne Residence demonstrates how architectural ambition and durability can coexist in coastal environments.
